Itinerary:
Day 01: Makassar – Sengkang. (L, D)
Upon arrival at Hasanuddin airport or pick up at the Hotel in Makassar, set out on the picturesque drive to Sengkang, on the way visit Bantimurung, located 41km north east. In a steep limestone valley with tropical vegetation and a 15 meter high waterfall. This valley is famous for its colorful butterflies. After Lunch we visit a traditional silk factory, where the women hand spin and weave silk cloth. In the afternoon we will try to catch the beautiful view of sunset over Lake Tempe and to see floating houses and fisherman villages. Dinner and overnight in Hotel. Day 02: Sengkang - Toraja. (B, L, D)
After breakfast, Drive to Toraja via Palopo, Palopo a small Moslem port and the capital of the Luwu regency, where we stop for lunch, and then turns inland and up the mountains. stop at Puncak overlooking a spectacular panoramic landscape. In the afternoon, arrival in Toraja. Dinner and overnight at Hotel. Day 03: Toraja (B, L, D)
After breakfast, A full day exploration of the Toraja Highlands visiting Lemo to see the cliff displaying ancestral sculptures and the hanging graves. Continue to Londa, which has an ancient ceremonial burial place. Kete Kesu is a wonderful Toraja village where we see ‘Tongkonan’ houses and rice barns. It is famous for its woodcarving. Lunch in Rantepao. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 04: Toraja (B, L, D)
After breakfast, Visit Batutumonga to enjoying superb views over Rantepao and surrounding valleys. On to Pallawa, a village on a small hill with more ‘Tongkonan’ houses, rice barns and granaries. Proceed to Sa’dan, the weaving center. Lunch in Local restaurant in Rantepao. Dinner and overnight at Hotel Day 05: Toraja – Makassar (B, L) Early departure from the Rantepao area and transfer to Makassar. Lunch in Pare Pare. Then we proceed directly to the airport for the onward flight. End of services
